1:1 Outdoor Therapeutic Wellbeing
If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of space to think, our 1:1 sessions for adults and young people can strengthen coping strategies, build clarity and support meaningful personal growth.
What is Outdoor Therapy?
The work we do goes by a few names, including wilderness therapy, adventure therapy and nature therapy, so we know it can be difficult to understand exactly what's involved and whether it’s what you’re looking for.
In essence, outdoor therapy is counselling outdoors, but it’s also more than that. We use the natural environment as a catalyst for change. Our therapeutic practitioners take clients to a pre-planned, nature-filled place and use the surrounding landscape to help them work through personal struggles. While we will often walk, and always talk, during our sessions, what we do isn’t the same as walking-and-talking counselling, because we bring the outdoor environment into the process.
We’re lucky to work in the Cairngorms National Park, where we have an incredible choice of forest, mountain, loch and river settings at our fingertips. But don’t let the wilderness aspect put you off: our services are for people of any fitness level.
All the work we do is carefully planned and delivered by outdoor guides, trained in wilderness therapy, and who know exactly what they're doing, and how to measure whether it's actually helping.
